Joe Toy, on the verge of puberty, realizes that he is greatly hampered by the guardianship of his lonely father, Frank, who wants to control his life. Declaring once and for all his independence, he escapes to the edge of the forest with his best friend Patrick and a strange fellow named Biagio. The fugitive informs his friends that they must build a house here in the forest where they can be free of responsibility and parents. As soon as the children complete the construction of their self-made housing, the three finally feel themselves as full masters of their own destiny.
